On Sunday United Airlines was forced to briefly ground all of their domestic flights because of some sort of computer issue.
The airline’s spokeswoman Maddie King released a statement about the news.
“We have issued a ground stop for all domestic mainline flights due to an IT issue. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve this issue and get our customers to their final destinations. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers.”
The pause reportedly lasted about two hours before planes were cleared to take off again around 915 PM EST. They have not reported how many flights were affected by the incident.
United had a similar issue a few months back where a computer glitch forced the airline to ground their planes as well.
