The main draw of Acapulco, Mexico is the beach, but there is much to explore in the local scene as well. The best months to visit are April, May, October, and November, but the dry season is anytime from November through May. Here are some things to do there when you go.
Take in Local History
The city’s Fort of San Diego is considered one of the most important Spanish strongholds during colonial rule. There is a museum on site, and outside there are amazing views of the bay.
Watch a Cliff Diving Show
Not to worry, no one will ask you to dive in behind them. The cliff diving show dates back to 1943, and these professional divers leap from 148-foot cliffs while you look on. Not something that you see every day.
People Watch in Zocalo
The neighborhood of Zocalo is a great place to people watch and do some exploring of the local nightlife. On weekend nights the square fills up with people hanging out and taking in performances by local musicians, street performers, and clowns.
