When it comes to airline food some is better than others, but apparently, none of it is great according to some research done by Dr. Charles Platkin, the director of the NYC Food Policy Center at Hunter College.
The study rated Virgin America as number one based on their “interesting, thoughtful food in all categories except for individual snacks.” Air Canada and Air Delta both got “most improved.”
Some of the airlines that they were looking into declined to share the nutritional information about the food that they serve on board, which didn’t seem to be a great sign.
In fact, it seems as though none of the airlines have great options that are truly health conscious across the board, so people who are watching their weight or limiting certain ingredients might be best off bringing on board snacks from home or picking up a to-go salad at the airport.
