A North Carolina-based tour company called Captivating Croatia has launched a Game of Thrones tour that begins in May. The tour takes fans of the show to sites where they shot scenes, as well as stops by restaurants said to be favored by the cast.
Guests will get to see locations such as Daenarys’ throne room at Diocletian’s Palace, Klis Fortress where many outside scenes were shot, and a 600-year-old water mill on the Zrnovica River which was used for shooting and also serves barbecue and wine.
The tours begin at 10 AM “so travelers can savor the morning air and enjoy breakfast without gulping down their coffee and croissants while they wonder if the luggage they left outside the door was picked up.”
The tour package includes the stay in either a hotel or private villa, transportation, and three meals a day. The rates for the package are about $1,650 per person, and flights during that time of year are generally somewhere between $1,000 and $1,300.
