On Friday morning the Denver airport will be opening a free ice skating rink just in time for the holidays. The rink will be open daily from 9 AM to 9 PM until January 1, 2017.
The rink will be open free of charge, with free skate rentals, music, and carolers. There will also be a changing area and some free lockers for storing luggage since the rink is located inside the airport.
There will also be some events held at the rink such as an ugly holiday sweater party, a screening of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and live performances by local school music groups.
Heath Montgomery, a spokesperson for Denver airport, made a statement about the rink.
“I think that this is probably a first. I’m not aware of any airports in the world that have an ice rink and we’re really excited to be maybe the first one ever.”
