The world’s tallest water slide is being shut down and demolished following the death of a ten-year-old boy over the summer.
The slide is located at a Kansas City water park, and at 168 feet tall could send people down at speeds nearing 60 miles per hour. In August Caleb Schwab had a tragic ride that resulting in a life taking neck injury.
The slide was shut down immediately after the incident but now they are planning to remove it completely. The water park released a statement about their plan for the attraction.
“Verrückt will be decommissioned –- closed permanently and the slide removed from the tower. In our opinion, it is the only proper course of action following this tragedy.”
The park is currently closed for the fall season and it is unknown what they will replace the slide with. Caleb’s death is still under investigation as well.
