The Wolf Lodge in Norway is dedicated to providing its guests with an up close and personal living amongst the wolves experience. The retreat is located inside of an animal sanctuary called Polar Park, which is located about 140 miles inside the Arctic Circle.
There are not many wolves left in Norway so the ones in the sanctuary are not wild, but they roam freely within the compound as if they were. This offers visitors the chance to experience the wolves up close and even touch them.
The wolves are accustomed to seeing humans so being around them is relatively safe when people follow the guidelines for being in their presence, but children under the age of 15 are not allowed at the resort for safety reasons.
The lodge also offers a great spot to see the Northern Lights, and guests can enjoy Norwegian dinners in front of a communal fireplace.
The goal of the retreat is to educate both locals and visitors about Arctic animals and get across the importance of preserving the cultural and ecological heritage of the area.
