Even though most of couldn’t afford $35,000 a night on a hotel room (and lots of us would get queasy even being handed a bill like that), there’s a certain class of travelers who simply can’t handle living in a normal person’s hotel room. At the forefront of the industry of creating lavish accommodations is Ty Warner, the inventor of Beanie Babies. In the years since, Warner has spent his stuffed animal largess on creating incredible suites and penthouses. Warner commissioned the design of the world famous penthouse suite in the Four Seasons in New York.
Now, though, Warner is moving out of penthouses and into the world of villas, setting out to create something truly special at Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, which he owns. According to the managing director at the resort, “Mr. Warner said, ‘I have the best hotel penthouse in the world. Now I want the best hotel villa in the world.’ ”
And by all accounts, Warner may have gotten the job done. The villa spans 22,500 square feet, complete with an infinity pool and a vertical garden. Accommodations range from in-suite massage spaces to outdoor pool tables, to a private putting green. Warner oversaw the construction of the villa personally (and was, by all accounts, quite a handful). The Suite at Las Ventanas is set to open soon, so as soon as you save up a year’s salary or more, it’s all yours!
