Just in time for the summer, one of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious public pools has reopened for business. Cornwall’s Jubilee Pool lido has finally been made available to the public again after a two year refurbishment which began in the wake of damaging storms which took place in January and February of 2014.
According to the BBC, “Walls have been repaired, paving and handrails replaced, and drainage and electrical systems have been updated.” The £3 million renovation is the largest in the pool’s history since it opened in 1935.
The Jubilee Pool is one of the rare saltwater pools in Europe. Its opening is the perfect opportunity for the physically fit or the fashionably active to be seen getting healthy. And just around the time that swimming outside has become trendy once more.
The Jubilee Pool is a great stop for tourists hoping to get a slice of authentic culture while they’re summering in the UK; the breathtaking views and the myriad activities planned throughout the summer months should be a great addition to your travel itinerary in the coming months.
